What to do upon arrival?
Depending on the departure point of your booking (airport, cruise port, train station or accommodation) the booking voucher will indicate what to do and where to go. Please follow those instructions to find the representative/driver.
How do I find my vehicle?
You will find instructions on the booking voucher, which is usually generated electronically by your agency at the time of booking. Please make sure you travel with the booking voucher, as this will be essential for you to meet the representative/driver. If, for any reason, you are unable to reach our representative/driver, it is important that you do not leave the meeting point without first calling our telephone number on the booking voucher or your agency until you contact our representative/driver.Please note that no refunds will be given in cases where you cannot provide reliable evidence that several phone calls have been made in an attempt to contact us.
How long do I have to make contact with the representatives at the airport?
Shared transfer: The standard waiting time is 60 minutes from the arrival time of the original flight stipulated in your reservation.
Private transfer: Your driver will wait a maximum of 1 hour from the time the flight lands, unless the agreement between the carrier and the agency states otherwise.

Will the driver drop me off and pick me up at my accommodation?
Shared transfer: The shuttle service, being a shared service, does not always allow to stop in front of the door of each hotel. Therefore, Giovanni Bus Travel has established a series of stops and meeting points close to the different hotels, so that the transfer time can be reduced. You can check with the representative at the airport or by phone if your hotel has a stop.
Private Transfer: Giovanni Bus Travel will, where possible, operate a door-to-door service. There may be occasions when this is not possible due to local restrictions. Where these restrictions apply, drivers will drop off and pick up at the nearest access point.
What is the duration of my trip?
Travel times are estimates and are applicable for a typical day’s travel. It is possible that these times may vary depending on the time of day, local road closures or detours, traffic volume, etc.
What to do upon departure?
As usually indicated on the booking voucher given by your agency, the pick-up time and place will be mailed to your agency and to your hotel reception, if allowed by your hotel, 48 hours prior to departure. You can also check the time using your supplier reference number on our website under Giovanni Bus Travel Pickup.
Please note that you should arrive at the pickup location at least 10-15 minutes before the pickup time. The driver will not wait more than 5 minutes before the pick-up time.
What is the baggage allowance?
The amount allowed per person is one standard size suitcase (55x40x25cm and max 20kg) and one small piece of carry-on luggage (small backpack, handbag or tote bag, not a small carry-on suitcase).
Please note that you will need to take your carry-on baggage with you, and that you will need to place it in the hand baggage allowance or under your own seat. If you are traveling with excess baggage (oversized suitcases, larger suitcases, special baggage…) you should contact your agency at least 48h before your transfer, as this may mean that an additional service will have to be hired at extra cost to accommodate the excess baggage.
What is considered special baggage?
It is considered special luggage the suitcases of larger than the established size, bags of golf clubs, bags of skis, surfboards, boxes of bicycles, strollers, folding or motorized wheelchairs…
If in the private services you intend to travel with any of the above, it is imperative that these extras have been indicated and paid for in the reservation. Please note: if you do not inform your agency, additional transportation may be required to accommodate excess baggage which will incur additional costs in the event that there is availability to provide the service or if there were no immediate availability, the customer would have to bear the cost of a cab at the place of collection to accompany the original transport.
What happens if I travel with sports luggage?
Apart from informing your agency to incur the extra cost, with any type of special luggage you should always specify the dimensions so that we can accommodate the vehicle to the client’s needs.
What should I know if I am traveling with infants or children?
If you are traveling in a shared transfer with children and/or infants, local and national laws regarding the use of child seats for infants 0 to 2 years old and children 3 to 11 years old apply. Transportation services are normally provided by minibus or coach and in these vehicles it is not possible to use a child seat as the vehicles do not have compatible seats.
If a private transfer is booked, the use of booster seats or seats for children under 12 years of age is mandatory up to 135 cm for safety reasons and you must notify your agency at least 48 hours prior to the transfer in order to make it available. Please note that this type of seats is subject to an additional charge and are only available for vehicles with up to 7 seats.
What should I do if I am or travel with a person with reduced mobility?
Giovanni Bus Travel could provide adapted transportation under availability, with previous notification of the service and at an additional cost of a standard transfer. These transfers will always be in a private vehicle since in shared transfers the client must access the vehicle on his own.
When you wish to book this type of vehicle, apart from having to inform as far in advance as possible of this condition, at least 48 hours, you must specify whether you are traveling with a manual or motorized wheelchair, whether it is foldable or not, its dimensions and note if the passenger is autonomous or if he/she needs assistance.
Please consult with your agency to know the conditions and to be able to organize the transfer in an optimal way.
What are the reasons for denial of transportation?
Giovanni Bus Travel reserves the right to refuse transportation to any person who is believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It may also be denied to any person whose behavior and/or language is considered abusive and may cause a threat or offense to Giovanni Bus Travel staff or its collaborators, to any other passenger, or causes damage to the vehicle. No refunds will be made for services not performed for the above reasons. For any damage caused to the vehicles, the person causing the damage will be held responsible for the charges incurred.
How do I cancel my reservation?
You must cancel your reservation directly with your agency, Giovanni Bus Travel cannot accept cancellations directly from the end user.
How can I make changes to my reservation?
Any modification must be previously informed to your agency, and they will send the new data to Giovanni Bus Travel. We must receive it at least 36 hours before the service, we cannot accept modifications directly from the end user. In case you could not contact your agency for any problem, you can contact Giovanni Bus Travel’s telephone service and they will tell you the steps to follow.
What happens if my arrival flight to the airport is delayed?
Flights are monitored, you do not need to contact Giovanni Bus Travel if your flight is delayed. On private transfers: We will automatically modify your pick-up time. The contracted waiting time starts at the moment the flight lands.On shared transfers: If you miss your assigned bus due to a delay, you will be offered a free re-assignment if there is availability on the following buses to your destination. Please note that availability on a shared shuttle cannot be reserved or held over the phone as it is based on time of contact with representatives.
What happens if my arrival flight to the airport is cancelled?
In order to accept the cancellation of the reservation due to flight cancellation, Giovanni Bus Travel must receive the cancellation in writing from your agency at least 6 hours before the scheduled arrival or departure. Consult with your agency about the possibility of reassigning a new transfer in order not to lose the reservation. In case you arrive on another flight on the same day you could be reassigned to another bus under availability once you contact the airport receptionists, if you arrive on a different day and you have not informed your agency, your reservation will be marked as no show.
